I Can Write

"This is a goat. It has four legs. The goat likes to eat grass."

This is the 1st time that Dayan writes a few sentences. Normally he will write a letter or a number. Although some letters are not very clear, it is a good try. After that, I reward him with a sweet.

Little Notes - Concert Day

Today is the last lesson for Little Notes. All the children have to perform for the parents to see.

Thank you, Ms Elizabeth Leong.

Busy Weekend

Last Saturday, after Dayan's music lesson, we went to Parkway Parade for some shopping. There were some Disney workshops at B1 & looked quite interesting. The kids had to complete all the workshops inorder to receive a bag. So we let Dayan tried them out after dinner.

Dayan had to do some colouring while waiting to go to the 1st workshop.

Waiting for his turn to "Handy Mannly" workshop

Dayan needed to identified different types of tools to paste onto the board.

2nd Wokrshop was to find Winnie on this cart.

After completion, Dayan got a Disney Bag. Well Done, darling!

On Sunday which was Father's Day, we went Downtown East together with my parents. Dayan got to play his favourite bowling at the Orchid Bowl. They had this mini bowling lane for kids.

It's Daytona Time. Dayan refused to leave the arcade unless he got his hands on this Daytona. He loved to turn the sterling wheel & change gear (act like a racer...like real!).

Dayan was fascinated by the ferris wheel. Whenever we went up to check out the shops, he would go & look at the ferris wheels. Since he was sooooo interested, Chinpapa bought 2 tickets for us to ride.

After the ride, we went to Gelare to have a rest & ice cream. I made use of the Ferris Wheel tickets to get discount for the ice cream. Yummy!!!!

We didn't get to play in the Explorer Kids as there were many children. We will try that in our next visit.

Mr Strong

After waiting for so long, Dayan finally got to bowl again. This time he showed us how strong he was by carrying No. 6 ball to the lane & roll it. Thanks to Uncle Nicholas for accompanying Dayan as Chinpapa wanted to concentrate his bowling.

Meeting Old Friends From Apple Tree

4 little old friends, Dayan, Cheryl, Kaisern & Zachery, met up at IMM playground on 5 June. They were so happy to see each. Dayan managed to overcome his fear by climbing up to the highest slide with cheryl. Too bad I didn't take any pictures for that. If not because of the mosquitos, they could have enjoy more. We went to Long John Silver for an early lunch.

West Mall

We went to the West Mall this afternoon to support Ying Jiejie (Chinpapa's cousin). She took part in the talented mother competition organised by West Mall for Mother's Day. She sang a chinese song & got into the final round.

We realised there was a Timezone in West Mall. Dayan can play his mini bowling again. No need to go all the way to Causeway Point liao. Hippee!!!

Just opposite the mini bowling was the candy machine. We decided to try our luck whether could get a Jackpot. In the end, no luck for the Jackpot but we got a Micky Mouse Bubble toy & lots of sweets.

Gathering At Bottle Tree Park

Met up with Kailin & family, Melissa & Boon Hwa for a stroll at the Yishun Bottle Tree Park. We took a ride on the Swan since the queue was not too long. I was so worried that Dayan would back out last minute. Luckily, he was very co-operative & sat still through the ride. So glad he enjoyed it. Of course, Chinpapa & I were tired of the paddling.

After the ride, we took our dinner in the restaurant. The food was good & the price was ok. We managed to finish everything. Yummy!!!

"Hey friends, hope u all have a great day. We definitely do."

A Good Deed

One proud mummy here is going to blog about her 41-mths-old son.

Today, we were taking the mrt from clementi to Tenah Merah (going to my parents' place). There were no seats when we boarded the train at clementi station & so we had to stand. Dayan got a seat only at Outram station. While he was happily seated, an old lady came & stood beside me. After about 2 to 3 stops, the old lady was still standing beside me. I wanted to test Dayan so I whispered to him: "Dayan, can u give up the seat to the old lady?" I expected him to shake his head because whenever he saw an empty seat, he would quickly sat on it. Surprisingly, he nodded his head & got down from his seat immediately. I told the old lady my son offered his seat to her. She was so happy (think she very tired) & kept praising Dayan was a good boy. She asked Dayan where was he going. She was very shocked when I told her Tenah Merah. At the same time, she looked out for empty seat for him (so sweet).

Another corner, there was an uncle waving to me, signaling that he wanted to give up the seat to Dayan. I smiled & shaked my head meaning no need. And so both of us continued to stand till Tenah Merah.

Coincidently, the uncle also alight at the Tenah Merah station. While taking the handicap lift to concourse level, the uncle said to me,
Uncle: "U have a very handsome & good son."
Me: "Thank you."
Uncle: "U are a fortunate mum."
Me: "No lah....."
(giving him an pai say look becoz there were other people in the lift & 1 aunty smiled at me)
Uncle: "I wanted to give up my seat to your son but u say no need."
Me: "Ya, I wanted to train him to stand."
Uncle: "It is very good."
(I pai say again)
This uncle offered some cookies wrapped in tissue paper to Dayan but I didn't take. We waved to the uncle when we went different directions.

In my mind, maybe the uncle saw Dayan gave up his seat thats why he made this comment. This was my 1st time hearing praises from a stranger. I told Dayan this uncle praised him very handsome. Immediately, Dayan asked me: "Is my hair short?" I told him: "Yes, u just have a haircut." It was so funny because everytime we told him he looked handsome after cutting his hair.

It might also because Dayan likes a book called "Manners". He has been going through this book for sometime. Inside, there is this chapter regarding a boy giving up his seat to an old lady. Thats why he can relate when I asked him to do so.

I told Chinpapa & my parents about it. They were so proud of him too. Chinpapa said must reward & praise him. So I bought Rebena pastilles for Dayan. I told him he could eat them after dinner.

I'm really really proud of Dayan. This is his 1st good deed. I hope he can have this gracious act all the way till adulthood.

"Well Done, Dayan"
